Awards/Achievements and Scholarships

The following student has been awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2013-2014 academic year:

* Ryan Lyle of El Paso, Texas, was awarded the Southeast Family Achievement. He is the son of John Lyle of Cape Girardeau and Elizabeth Hanner of El Paso and will be a graduate from Chapin High School in El Paso.

Peters earns scholarship

Jessica Peters of Jackson earned the Masonic Merit Scholarship. She is the daughter of Bill and Kathy Peters and will attend Murray State University and will major in education.

McBride makes dean's list

Quitman McBride of Cape Girardeau made the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass.

Tri-State accepting scholarship applications

Tri-State Advertising & Marketing Professionals is accepting applications for the 2013 scholarship program. Three $500 scholarships will be awarded for the 2013-2014 academic year. To be eligible, a student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be pursuing a degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, mass communications, graphic design, radio/television production or a related field and must attend Southeast Missouri State University, Mineral Area College, Three Rivers College, Murray State University or Southern Illinois University - Carbondale.
