Mike and Therese Klipfel of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Jesse Klipfel of Chicago, to Lance Ferrell. He is the son of Buz Ferrell and Christine Ray of Benton, Mo., and Carroll and Debbie Williams of Cape Girardeau.

Klipfel received a degree in communication disorders from Southeast Missouri State University, and is a graduate student at Governors State University. She is a nanny.

Ferrell received a degree in audio for visual media at Columbia College. He is employed by Apple.

An Aug. 3 wedding is planned at SqWires in St. Louis.
