Carla Burnett and Larry Kitchen of Cape Girardeau and Jay and Terri Burnett of Battlefield, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Nicole Burnett, to Paul Veneziano, both of Nevada, Mo. He is the son of Carol Veneziano of Cape Girardeau and Louis and Anna Veneziano of Ames, Iowa.

Brittany is a 2009 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in general studies with an emphasis in zoology from Southeast Missouri State University. She is kennel supervisor at Nevada Veterinary Clinic.

Paul is a 2006 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Southeast in 2010, and a master of science in behavior analysis and therapy from Southern Illinois University in 2012. He became a board certified behavior analyst in 2012, and was licensed to practice in the state of Missouri in July 2013. He is employed by the Department of Mental Health at Southwest Community Services in Nevada.

A May 24 wedding is planned at First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.
