Dean's and president's lists

* Several local students were named to the dean's list and president's list at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa for the spring 2014 semester: Mark Blanton of Sikeston, Missouri, Chelsea Hastings and Harlie Waldon, both of Cape Girardeau, were named to the dean's list. To be named to the dean's list, a student must be enrolled full-time with at least a 3.5 grade-point average. Lessley Dennington of Cape Girardeau and Brianna and Craig Bartelsmeyer of Herrin, Illinois, were named to the president's list. To be named to the president's list, a student must be enrolled full time with at least a 4.0 grade-point average for the semester.

* Kaylen Martin, a sophomore, and Kelsey Martin, a junior, both from Cape Girardeau; and Bethany Nicholson, a senior from Sikeston, Missouri, were named to the dean's list at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, for the spring 2014 semester. To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.

* Kelcee Davault of Advance, Missouri, has received the Incentive Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Davault is the daughter of Michael Davault of Advance and is a 2014 graduate of Advance High School. She plans to study general education at Three Rivers.

* Taylor Dumars of Cape Girardeau, Samuel Lies of Jackson and Ryan Buttry of Sikeston, Missouri, have been awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Graduates

* Victoria-Lee Moy of Sikeston, Missouri, graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with a doctor of pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at the conclusion of the spring 2014 semester.
