Russ and Patty Brown announce the engagement of their daughter, Monica Anne Brown of Danville, Kentucky, to Rex Allen Meyr Jr. of Jackson. He is the son of Rex and Pat Myer of Jackson.

Brown graduated from Boyle County High School in 2006. She received a bachelor of science degree in accounting in 2010 from the University of Kentucky. She will work for Montgomery Bank in Cape Girardeau.

Meyr graduated from Jackson High School in 2007. He received his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011 and received a master of science degree in mining engineering from the University of Kentucky in 2013. He works at Heartland Materials in Jackson.

The wedding will be held Nov. 8 at Fasig-Tipton horse farm in Lexington, Kentucky.
