Nicholas Maddock of Richmond, Virginia, has established the Nicholas K. Maddock LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Ally Scholarship through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. The scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled at Southeast of any major with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Freshmen who have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA also may apply. Applicants must submit a short essay demonstrating how they have enhanced the LGBT community at Southeast or their high school, for incoming freshmen. The campus life director will evaluate the essays and make the selection. Maddock graduated summa cum laude at Southeast in the spring of 2014 with a bachelor's degree in economics and business administration with a major in finance and a major in management, entrepreneurship option.
