Saxony FFA charter signing set

In commemoration of Saxony Lutheran High School's newly established agricultural education program and its FFA chapter, a ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Monday for the signing of the official charter of the Saxony Lutheran High School FFA Chapter. Saxony will be the first private high school in Missouri to be chartered. The ceremony will take place in the Moeller Commons at the school, 2004 Saxony Lane in Jackson. Chapter officers will be installed by FFA Area 15 officers; Greenhand Degree recipients will receive award pins; and Andrew Aufdenberg will present the FFA Creed. Running session scheduled

Running FUNdamentals, a free program, sponsored by HealthPoint Fitness and HealthPoint Rehab in collaboration with the local Run for God team, will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at HealthPoint in Cape Girardeau. The session will focus on rehab, fitness and nutrition. Pre-registration is required; register at SEhealth.org/Events.

Auxiliary to host book sale

SoutheastHEALTH Auxiliary will hold a "Books Are Fun" sale Thursday and Friday in the Southeast Hospital Lobby. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. This sale will offer books and gifts. Credit, debit, check and cash are accepted; there will be prize drawings. Those who spend $25 may obtain a holiday fleece blanket for $7.99.

Holiday concert Dec. 7

The Sounds of the Season holiday concert under the direction of Jerry Ford will take place Dec. 7 at the Cape Bible Chapel. Seating will begin at 1:30 p.m. with entertainment by the Jackson High School Hand Bell Choir. The concert will start at 2 p.m. Entertainers will include the Brothers Walker, Pattie McPheeters, Lauren Powers, Dr. Andrew Moore, Shane Steck, Academy of Dance Arts and the Jerry Ford Orchestra. Tickets are a minimum donation of $5. Donors of $50 or more may place a special tribute in the concert program. Proceeds benefit cancer patients through the Southeast Cancer Center Patient Experience Fund. Ticket information is available by calling the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation at 573-986-6622.
