Roger and Cecilia Ng of St. Louis announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Ng, to Derek Helderman, both of St. Louis. He is the son of Marybeth and Aaron Helderman Jr. of Whitewater.

Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and a master of science degree in industrial engineering with an emphasis in human factors and ergonomics. She is a test engineer at The Boeing Company in St. Louis.

Derek is a graduate of Delta High School and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in human environmental studies with an emphasis in dietetics and is a graduate of the dietetic internship program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He is an education and quality management dietitian at the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

An April 2016 wedding is planned at the Old Post Office in downtown St. Louis.
