Fancy That! dress sale planned

The third annual Fancy That! Formal Dress Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 30 in the third-floor lobby at the Southeast Missouri State University Center, 1 University Plaza in Cape Girardeau. Every year, gently used formal dresses are donated by members of the community to be resold at a reduced price to give young women in the area affordable options when it comes to going to prom or other formal events. The resale event is part of the annual Southeast Serves campaign to provide community-service opportunities for university students. All proceeds benefit local not-for-profit agencies, including the Cape Girardeau Safe House for Women.

Three receive Residence Life Leadership Awards

Bettie Kimbrough and Whitney Lincoln of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Katelyn Johnson of Jackson were awarded the Residence Life Leadership Award to assist with the cost of their attendance at Southeast Missouri State University this fall. Kimbrough and Lincoln will be 2016 graduates of Woodland High School. Kimbrough is the daughter of Ricky Kimbrough and Becky Wilkinson. Lincoln is the daughter of Carmon Warner of Marble Hill. Johnson, who will be a 2016 graduate of Jackson High School, is the daughter of Bradley and Tabatha Johnson of Jackson.
