The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department's Super Kids Race Day event will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Southeast Missouri State University Student Recreation Center-North. The event is open to all children up to 15 years old, and all participants will receive a Super Kids Race Day T-shirt and participation ribbon. The cost for the event is $10 for an individual child, and $8 for each additional child for those who register by Feb. 2. From Feb. 3 through the day of the race, an individual child will cost $12, and each additional child $10. Registration will run from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration forms are available at the A.C. Brase Arena Building, the Osage Centre and the Shawnee Park Center. Saint Francis Healthcare System is hosting its third annual Better Health, Better Man: Men's Health Event on Thursday, Feb. 11. Check-in will begin at 5 p.m. and speaker sessions will start at 6 p.m. at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau, 777 N. Main St. The event will provide the opportunity for men and their significant others to learn about a variety of men's health issues, and the speaker sessions will be presented by experts from Saint Francis.
The free event also will include a variety of local exhibitors. Door prizes will be given away throughout the night and food and drinks will be served.
