Three students given scholarships

Paige McNeely of Scott City, Megan Sheeley of Cape Girardeau and Taylor Smith of Jackson were awarded the Governor's Scholarship to assist with the cost of attendance at Southeast Missouri State University this fall. McNeely will be a 2016 graduate of Scott City High School and is the daughter of James and Debbie McNeely of Scott City. Sheeley will be a 2016 graduate of Cape Central High School and is the daughter of Perry Sheeley and Rhonda Blankenship of Cape Girardeau. Smith will be a 2016 graduate of Jackson High School and is the daughter of David and Sandy Smith of Jackson.

Jackson seniors get awards

Olivia Brown of Jackson was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award to assist with the cost of attendance at Southeast Missouri State University this fall. Brown will be a 2016 graduate of Jackson Senior High School and is the daughter of Jim and Kelley Brown of Jackson. James Burdette of Jackson was awarded the Education Access Program and Regents' Scholarship to assist with the cost of attendance at Southeast this fall. Burdette also will be a 2016 graduate of Jackson High School and is the son of Lue Burdette. His guardians are Alan and Diana Moreland.

Student named to college honors list

Timothy Hill of Jackson was named to the Mercy College of Ohio, based in Toledo, Ohio, fall 2015 honors list. Hill is a senior majoring in medical imaging.
