Meals with Friends menus set

The Salvation Army's Meals with Friends will run from noon to 1 p.m. March 21 to 24. The menus are as follows:

* Monday: Mac and cheese, green peas and dessert

* Tuesday: Chicken and dumplings, green beans and dessert

* Wednesday: Spaghetti marinara, corn and dessert

* Thursday: Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and black-eyed peas

* Friday: Closed for Good Friday

Peeps for Paws Easter egg hunt scheduled

Peeps for Paws for a Good Cause, an Easter egg hunt for dogs, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Dog Town in Kiwanis Park, 2100 Rotary Drive in Cape Girardeau. A $5 donation or a donation of four or five "human" food items is required to participate the hunt. All dogs must be on a non-retractable leash and be up to date on vaccinations. Easter celebration services planned

Connection Point Church will host four Easter worship services at 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday, March 26, and at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, March 27, at the church, 1506 S. Farmington Road in Jackson. After each service there will be a helicopter egg drop for children, along with sky divers. Kids Super Church and a nursery will be available during all services. Marine Corps League to hold breakfast

Cpl. Mason Yarbrough's detachment will serve an authentic Marine boot camp breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at the National Guard Armory, 224 W. Park St. in Jackson. The menu will include biscuits and gravy (or "SOS"), bacon, eggs, coffee and juice, and will cost $6 per person. Children 7 years old and younger eat free.

Lazy L Safari Park egg hunt set

Lazy L Safari Park will host an "Egg Hunt at the Zoo" from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the park, 2763 County Road 618 in Cape Girardeau. The egg hunts will begin at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. There will be two age groups, children 4 years old and younger and children 5 to 8 years old. Admission will be $7 per person, and there will be various games, races and door prizes. The Easter Bunny also will be in attendance for photographs.

Zion UMC to host Easter egg hunt

Zion United Methodist Church Gordonville will hold a community Easter egg hunt for children of all ages at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the church, 3652 State Highway Z, Cape Girardeau. Easter Bake Sale planned

The Daughters of St. Ambrose will host an Easter bake sale at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at Whitakers Ace Hardware, 138 W. Yoakum Ave. in Chaffee, Missouri.

Second Chance Prom to be held

Have a second chance to experience high school prom at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 3305 N. High St. in Jackson. The event will include appetizers and drinks, live music by the Mike Renick Band, a silent auction and more. Tickets cost $50 per person or $350 for a table of eight.
