Eftink -- Buckel

Mark and Becky Eftink of Oran, Missouri, announce the engagement of their daughter, Maria Eftink, to Christopher Buckel, both of St. Louis. He is the son of Brian and Joanne Buckel of Zachary, Louisiana.

Maria is a graduate of Oran High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Fontbonne University in St. Louis and a Master of Arts in higher education from Southeast Missouri State University. She is director of athletics at Fontbonne University.

Christopher is a graduate of Brother Martin High School in New Orleans. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is a professional civil engineer at Modjeski and Masters Inc. in Edwardsville, Illinois.

An Aug. 27 wedding is planned at Guardian Angel Church in Oran. The couple also will celebrate with a reception in New Orleans on Nov. 19.
