Firkin Friday: A firkin is a small cask and a unit of measurement -- roughly a 9-gallon keg. It also is called a real ale because it is naturally carbonated in the serving container. A firkin gives the opportunity to take a great beer and add extra ingredients, creating unique flavors and aromas. A cask ale will be tapped with a mallet behind the bar at 4 p.m. on the First Friday of every month. Enter names with a firkin purchase for a chance to win a Minglewood T-shirt.
