Christmas cantata planned

The Christmas cantata, "Go Sing It On the Mountain," will be performed by the combined choirs of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Centenary United Methodist Church under the direction of Mike Dumey at 10:45 a.m. today at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1820 Perryville Road in Cape Girardeau.

Santa Claus available for photos

Santa Claus will be available for photos from noon to 3 p.m. today at the Yule Log Cabin, 7634 State Highway N in Scott City.

Christmas concert scheduled

The music ministries of St. Andrew Lutheran Church will host an annual Christmas concert at 2 p.m. today at the church, 804 N. Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau. Attendees will be able to hear the songs of the season performed by the choir, praise band and mission bells choir. Refreshments will be served following the concert. Model train show to be held

A model train show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Purcell Tire, 5308 Highway 61 in Jackson. Arnold Kistner has a large selection of model trains and he will have some of them on display and running at this show. There will be about four layouts and some trains will be for sale.

Flash mob set for mall

The Messiah Choir will perform the "Hallelujah Chorus" in a flash mob-type performance at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, in the JCPenney courtyard at West Park Mall, 3049 William St. in Cape Girardeau. Attendees are invited to join the choir in singing.

Southeast to host fall commencement

The fall commencement for Southeast Missouri State University will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Show Me Center, 1333 N. Sprigg St. in Cape Girardeau.
