The finest gift that God could give

His only son that ever lived.

He sent Him down from heaven's shore

and on the cross for me was torn.

A precious man that loved us all

and from our sin He tried to call

to his bosom would He clasp

the men that stung Him like an asp.

Man could never save himself

So God would send us down some help.

He shielded me from, God's great wrath

and saved me from Hell's fiery blast.

He bridged for me, a chasm deep

From troubled waters, for me to keep

the fearsome thorns, did pierce his brow

No greater love, from then to now.
