ENGAGEMENTS: FIELDS-ABBOTT

JACKSON, Mo. -- Leabert and Ann Fields of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Christina Fields of Desloge, Mo., to Capt. Laird Abbott of Renton, Wash. He is the son of Clarence and Carlene Abbott of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.

Fields received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Southeast Missouri State University. She received a master of science degree in counseling from Southwest Missouri State University. She is an RTEC coordinator at Mineral Area College.

Abbott received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He received a master of science degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is lead flight test engineer at the AWACS Joint Test Force with the U.S. Air Force in Seattle, Wash.

An April 21 wedding is planned at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
