ENGAGEMENTS: GIBBAR-MORTON

Jimmie and Lisa Gibbar of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Jaime Lynde Gibbar, to Matthew Michael Morton, both of St. Louis. He is the son of Sheilah and Ronald Smith of Chesterfield, Mo., and Michael Morton of Jackson, Mo.

Gibbar is a 1995 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in mass communications from Southeast Missouri State University in 2000. She is a research associate with Michael Latas and Associates in St. Louis.

Morton is a 1993 graduate of Jackson High School, and served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is majoring in management information systems at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

A May 5 wedding is planned at St. Mary's Cathedral.
