JACKSON -- Deborah Jean King and Kenneth Robert Rodrigues of Turlock, Calif., have announced their engagement. She is formerly of Jackson and worked for the state of Missouri. King is the daughter of Richard and Betty Swanson of Denair, Calif. Rodrigues is the son of Kenneth Rodrigues of Modesto, Calif.

King is a 1970 graduate of Hilmar High School. She is retired.

Rodrigues is a 1967 graduate of Downy High School. He is retired from Procter & Gamble.

An April 8 wedding is planned at Evangelical Free Church in Turlock.
