Illers-Spooler

David and Gloria Illers of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Christine Illers, to Douglas Ben Spooler. He is the son of Kenny and Michelle Spooler and Michael and Vickie Webb of Jackson, Mo.

Illers is a 1997 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in communication disorders from Southeast Missouri State University in 2001. She expects to receive a master's degree in speech language pathology from St. Louis University in May 2003.

Spooler is a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School. He expects to receive a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla in May. He will be a manufacturing supervisor with General Motors Corp. at Wentzville, Mo.

A June 8 wedding is planned at Trinity Lutheran Church.
