The March of Dimes will be the program topic during today's noon Woman to Woman luncheon at St. Francis Medical Center. The meal is served in the education department and is $10 at the door.

Free colon cancer screening kits offered

Area residents concerned about colon cancer can get free blood testing kits through March. The kits are offered by the American Cancer Society and are available by calling 334-9197. The kits will be processed through St. Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri Hospital.

St. Francis Foundation offers scholarships

Applications are now available for scholarships to be awarded by the St. Francis Medical Center Foundation and Auxiliary groups.

The scholarships are open to any student who has completed a year in an accredited health-care program and has a 2.5 GPA or higher.

The awards are given based on financial need and academic success. Students from Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri are given special consideration. Candidates must submit a formal application, and those selected will attend personal interviews June 27 and 28.
