The house at 2725 Oakshire Circle in Tanglewood Estates is a little bit like Cape Cod in Cape Girardeau. The exterior features a unique combination of shake and vertical siding in a soft gray with red shutters that gives the house a cottage look. And naturally, the home has a wonderful lake view from the rear.

Inside, the home has many great features, including more space than you might imagine. The house has five bedrooms, four baths, two fireplaces, a hot tub, a game room and a recreation bar.

This cottage has an inviting feel. The front porch is large enough for patio furniture, and inside every room is warm, yet luxurious.

The foyer area has a plush cream carpeting and an interesting white wooden banister to separate the living room. Two focal points in the living room grab attention. One is the white brick fireplace, which is classic yet modern in its white brick. The second focal point is a bank of five windows at the rear of the room that give a stunning view of the lake at the rear of the home. The terraced back yard is wooded enough to give a country feel, yet not so thick as to block the wonderful view of the lake.

The kitchen features oak cabinets, modern appliances and handy features like a space in the cabinetry for a microwave oven. The flooring is a tile-look linoleum, and the cheery breakfast area faces the rear of the living room fireplace.

A formal dining room doubles as a sunroom with a classic black-and-white marble tile floor. A photographic mural on the rear wall of the room features a peaceful pond with water lilies. But the natural view of the lake through the windows offers a better view. Sliding glass doors lead to the deck, which winds around the back and side of the house.

Other advantages of this home are a two-car garage, main-level laundry room and other rooms that can be used for a multitude of purposes. One is a sitting room, though it could also be used as a bedroom, because it has lovely windows, a large closet and access to a full bathroom.

One of the bedrooms features a beautiful bay window and five other windows for natural light. A nearby bathroom includes a shower/tub with a handheld shower massage.

This home has an interesting and luxurious upstairs, with most of the area being used as a sitting room, perfect for little areas of conversation when entertaining or as quiet areas for reading a good book. The area features unique ceiling dormer ceiling lines.

Also upstairs is another bedroom with two large windows and a large closet and another office or bedroom. A soft blue-green carpet gives the entire upstairs a quiet and luxurious feel.

The upstairs bathroom has been decorated with a Mediterannean feel. The tile is a brown mosaic style. A double-sink vanity with a mirror that runs the entire length of the vanity creates a light and luxurious space, with a skylight adding an abundance of natural light.

Another room currently being used as a sitting room also could be used as a bedroom.

The main level and upstairs offer abundant space, but the home also has a finished basement with seafoam-green plush carpeting and a bar area with a large mirror situated behind it. Plenty of cabinetry is available for snack and beverage storage. French doors lead to a patio with a screened-in back porch, the perfect spot for enjoying the lake view without the intrusion of mosquitos. The screened-in area also has cleverly been designed for the storage of patio furniture and boating supplies.

Another great downstairs features is the second brick fireplace in the family room. A library and an exercise room, complete with mirrored walls, are downstairs.

A large barrel-style hot tub is just outside the French doors, with a perfect view of the lake. But no view can beat the one from the enclosed and heated gazebo that has been built down a walkway at the rear of the home. It is carpeted, heated, and with glass on three sides offers the most romantic view of the lake. It is being used as a computer room, which would make office work no longer a chore.

This Cape Cod marvel, located in America's only inland cape, is listed at $237,000 and is available for viewing through Thomas L. Meyer Realty Co., 334-2876.
