Jackson Middle School has started its own Stream Team (#3783) in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation during the 2008-2009 school year. The team has adopted three local stream locations in the Cape and Bollinger Counties. Currently the team visits these locations to collect data for the MDoC to help monitor macro-invertebrates, water flow conservation and trash pick-up. The team is made up of both 6th and 7th grade students, parent volunteer drivers, and supervised by Jason Bruns, Debbie Gregory, and Tim Kluesner (currently 7th grade science teachers at JMS). We will begin visiting all three locations each two times a year (fall/spring) to collect data for the MDoC.
