The Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation Department along with Cape Girardeau County Public Health Department is encouraging all residents to stride into a healthier lifestyle by participating in a year long walking program. By joining the Walk Across Missouri program you will receive a digital pedometer and quarterly newsletter, as well as, have the chance to receive various gifts and rewards based on the number of miles walked. Essentially participants are attempting to walk an 862 mile simulated loop beginning and ending in Cape Girardeau through the state of Missouri using the Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation Department trails and facilities. You can become a Walk Across Missouri member for only $25.00 for an entire year. Your year will be based on your start date. Sign up at the Osage Community Centre or by calling (573)339-6340.
