James Schulz, grandson of James & Dorothy Bowers (Cape Girardeau), on September 8 impressed the guides with his bow hunting abilities during a Wyoming trip to hunt high desert mule deer. The guides never had a 12 year old try to hunt these deer with a bow. The outfitter only accepted James after Joe Thomas vouched for him. The shot opportunities are fast and very difficult. It is physically demanding hunting, walking miles up and down hills in the heat and crawling through cactus when you get close. Most experienced hunters do not succeed, but the kid pulled it off!
