The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center and is designed to help new and experienced hunters improve their skills. CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Join the Missouri Department of Conservation in celebrating the passion and respect Missourians have for the great outdoors at Huntin' Camp this Friday. The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center and is designed to help new and experienced hunters improve their skills. This is an event to include family and friends to help pass on the importance of conservation and preservation of Southeast Missouri's best natural resources.

Hunters will learn how to score antlers, dress game for cooking and taxidermy mounting, basics of firearm hunting, bowhunting and trapping as well as tips and tricks from the experts. Find out where to hunt, how to choose the best equipment, how to identify on the fly, choose the right call and much more. There will also be an opportunity to taste some of the best wild game Missouri has to offer and learn to cook game so that the whole family will enjoy it.

Discover Hunting programs are designed to help youth and adults experience the rich traditions of hunting through shooting skills, classes and hunting clinics. This event is open to all ages.
