The meeting is also called the Third Tuesday Tea Time (TTTT) and is held on the Third Tuesday of each month to continue the work to complete our Mission as stated below...

On March 19th, 2013 at 6:30pm, the Cape County Tea Party (CCTP) will hold its open monthly meeting at the Cape Girardeau Public Library. The meeting is also called the Third Tuesday Tea Time (TTTT) and is held on the Third Tuesday of each month to continue the work to complete our Mission as stated below.

Our speaker this month is John Jordan, the Sheriff of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. Sheriff Jordan will speak on Gun Control and the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. There will be time for the Sheriff to answer your questions on subjects of Missouri Law and Concealed Carry as well.

About Sheriff Jordan

Sheriff John Jordan began his career with the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office in 1986 where he served as Chief of Detectives (Lieutenant) until being elected as Sheriff of Cape Girardeau County in 1994. Sheriff Jordan is a former narcotics agent and commander of the Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad. Sheriff Jordan is also a graduate of the National Sheriff's Institute in Longmont, Colorado.

Sheriff Jordan has instituted many Community oriented programs since being elected Sheriff. Some of those include the D.A.R.E. program, the Community Police Officer program by obtaining a COPS Grant. He is an original founding member of the first SALT Council (Seniors & Lawmen Together) west of the Mississippi River. Sheriff Jordan wrote and received a 1.5 Million-Dollar Grant from the United States Marshals Office to aid in the construction of the new Cape Girardeau County Justice Center, which opened for business on March 13, 2001.

Sheriff Jordan serves on or has served on the following boards:

- SEMO Drug Task Force

- Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad

- The Safe House for Women

- Missouri Midwest HIDTA

- The National Sheriff's Association

- The Missouri Sheriff's Association

- The Missouri Sheriffs Retirement Board.

In April of 2000, Sheriff Jordan was appointed by U.S. Senator Christopher Bond to write and oversee an anti-methamphetamine program for the state of Missouri. Jordan was made fiduciary agent of over $6,000,000.00 to be distributed statewide to fight methamphetamine throughout rural Missouri. The MOSMART program continues today and has distributed over $18,000,000 to rural Sheriffs and Drug Tasks Forces in Missouri.

Sheriff Jordan enjoys spending time with his family and hobbies include hunting and fishing and other outdoor activities.

- Disseminate current and topical information that affects CCTP members and the community at large (typically a speaker)

- Engage the attendees in a form of activism to work toward the completion of our mission

- Increase the membership of the CCTP
