For the second year in a row a Cape Public Schools student has been awarded "Best in Show" at Southeast Missouri State University's High School Art Exhibition. In addition, twelve other Cape Public Schools District students won awards ranging from 1st Place to Honorable mention, and seven other students' works were selected for exhibition. "We are extremely proud of our students' accomplishments," said Art Department Chairperson Elizabeth Thomas, pictured above, second from left, at the April Cape Public Schools monthly board meeting. Students who were unable to attend the meeting are Mallory Dickson, Molly Kinder, Stephen McCoy, Ashley Cusick, and Lexys Meyer.

Students whose work was selected for exhibit include: Brittany Adams, Ally Hébert, Blake Wilson, Emily Stephens, Erin Bittle, Faith Tegel, Julia Dembowski, Joe Bradford and Harley Kelly. District Art Teachers whose students exhibited or placed at the exhibition are Elizabeth Thomas, Robert Friedrich, Carlynn Forst and Lawrence Brookins.
