Cape Central High School is pleased to announce the selection of Joshua Sander as a National Merit Scholar and as a Missouri Scholars 100 recipient for 2013. To be selected as a National Merit Finalist, Joshua earned a score on the SAT that less than 1% of the students earned who took the 2013 SAT globally. To be selected as a Missouri Scholars 100 recipient, Joshua scored high enough on a rigorous academic rubric developed by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals that distinguished those selected as among the top 100 high school graduates from a total Missouri graduation class of approximately 60,000 students for 2013. Joshua, Cape Central's 2013 valedictorian, is the son of Lisa and David Sander and plans to attend Union University in Jackson, TN, where he will study Business Administration with a concentration in economics.

According to Cape Central Principal Dr. Mike Cowan, "Josh has sustained our Cape Central tradition of National Merit and Missouri 100 graduates as he has distinguished himself academically on the local, state, national and global levels. In addition to being a stellar student, Josh is also one of the most honorable and gracious young gentlemen to be graduated from Cape Central during my all of my years as Cape Central principal."
