One of the youngest creators of an Apple-approved app "learned the skills necessary to invent the app at Cape Career and Technology Center (CTC)," says Husam Wadi, a member of the Cape Central High School (CHS) Class of 2013. Pictured working on one of his many projects at the CTC, the young inventor heaped praise on CTC and CHS during a recent phone interview, saying, "I learned everything I needed to become an inventor at CTC and CHS. Their programs and faculty are awesome." Wadi not only met Apple's stringent requirements while creating his optical illusion app, Mind Trip, but also proved his ingenuity during several other projects at CTC, winning some awards along the way.

"He's a particularly creative guy, and was one of the team leaders for both of our First Robotics Club and our NASA Great Moon Buggy Build team," says Collin Sheridan, Pre-Engineering Instructor at CTC. "As an aspiring entrepreneur and mechanical engineer, Husam spent his high school years coding, prototyping and developing new ideas and designs. Much of the tools and technology used to brainstorm and develop the app was provided right here." Husam used the knowledge and help from the CTC's Graphic Arts course to design the images for his app and he attended the Audio-Visual courses to film and edit a promotional video for the app. A popular YouTube channel, Vsauce, featured his app in a video that gained over 600,000 views, causing the app's download rate to skyrocket from 40-50 per month to over 1000 downloads a month.
