Bob Miller Award

Bob Miller was a 1952 graduate of Notre Dame. In 1972, Mr. Miller gathered a group of volunteers and formed the Notre Dame Booster Club. Thanks to Mr. Miller and his group, the Notre Dame Booster Club continues to grow.

After the passing of Mr. Miller, the Booster Club began giving the Bob Miller Award in his memory in recognition of continuous and meritorious service that best upholds the name and tradition of the Notre Dame Athletic program and of Notre Dame Regional High School.

The recipients of this years Bob Miller Award have done just that. Scott & Michelle Bradshaw have been a great team since Scott became president in 2009. During his presidency he has seen the completion of the baseball stadium improvement, purchase of the two large buses, tennis courts, and the second gym Drury Hall. He has also seen the addition of a few new sports; boys & girls tennis, girls golf, wrestling, and boys volleyball.

Now we all know that behind every man is a good women and that is Scott's wife Michelle. During this same time, she has overseen the inside and outside concessions and gates, developed and driven the improvements in the volunteer spot program and club sign ups to the booster volunteer program, but it has been a model to expand the service to include performing and visual arts too.

Scott and Michelle thank you for all you have done for the Bulldogs and Notre Dame Athletics. You have been an invaluable part of the team....it is my pleasure to present the Bob Miller Award to Scott and Michelle Bradshaw.

His baseball coach, Jeff Graviett, states, "This athlete is a born leader who combines hard work with great knowledge of the game to make him the athlete he is. But, as great of an athlete that he is, he is an even better young man who will do anything for his teammates.

His soccer coach, Matt Vollink, states, "He is a wonderful leader on and off the field. He is the caliber of player that you love to work with because of everything he brings to the field. He is a wonderful athlete but he is even a better person. He has that hard work and determination that will carry him through whatever he tries. This is also why he is such a natural leader on and off the field. I am extremely proud and consider myself extremely lucky to have been able to coach such an outstanding young man.

His basketball coach, Paul Unterreiner, states, "When I first took over as head coach, I knew the first thing I had to do was call a certain young man into my classroom & discuss the future of the program. I named him captain immediately, and he flourished in this role. He was truly an assistant coach on the floor and off. On the floor he was a dominant defender and a sharp shooter from 3 point range. Off the floor, he truly puts God 1st, others 2nd, and himself 3rd. This athlete is a young man I will forever love and respect.

Ladies and gentlemen, the 2015 Bulldog Award winner, Thomas Himmelberg.

Lady Bulldog Winner

Lydia Goodson

The 2014-2015 Lady Bulldog award winner has played volleyball all four years and ran track the last two years. The last two years in volleyball, she was All-Conference, All-Region, All-District and All-State. This year she had 256 kills, a kill % of .619, 49 Blocks, and 217 Digs.

Her track coaches state, "We asked this young lady to give track a shot 2 years ago. She did and was a nice piece to our growing squad. She leads our team in long jump and triple jump, and is a fine example to our younger athletes. When we think of her, not only do we think of her ability to jump up and spike a volleyball or soar through the air and land in the pit, but we think of the big smile she brings into this building every day. She is an exceptional young lady that we have the utmost respect for.

Her volleyball coach, Tara Stroup, states, "She was many things to our volleyball team this year. She was our only senior and our captain. She was our only All-Stater we had this year and last. The led the team in blocks, kill percentage, and serves received percentage. She has earned almost 600 kills in the last two varsity seasons. But there is much more than that. I have truly enjoyed my time spent with her these last 4 years. She is just the type of player that coaches dream of having on their teams. She was extremely coachable & hard working. It wasn't easy for her being the only senior, but she made the younger players feel welcome & encouraged them. Her teammates loved her. We will all miss her tremendously next year. I am glad I got to be a part of her life these last 4 years & be a witness to what a remarkable young woman she has become. Love, Coach Stroup.

Ladies and gentlemen, the 2015 Lady Bulldog Award Winner, Lydia Goodson.
