Three-Time Detroit Blues Challenge winner, John Latini, will be stopping in Cape Girardeau on his way to Memphis, Tennessee, to compete at the annual International Blues Challenge event. John, a perennial favorite in the area, has appeared numerous times at Tunes At Twilight, Port Cape, Stooges, Stoogefest and Rock In The Rock Garden over the last five years. Latini will be performing solo at Underberg's House Concerts on Sunday Jan. 24 at 7 pm. The award winning songwriter will be playing music from his first full length blues record set for release this spring. The working title of the new CD is "The Blues Just Makes Me Feel Good" and will be released nationally by Smokin' Sleddog Records, an indie record label based in Michigan. John met area music promoters Larry and Jean Underberg on his first visit to the area when he played their house concert and Ted and Judy Clark's Thursday night music series at Stooges in Jackson.
