Perryville, MO – Michael C. Prather, Senior Account Manager with Enterprise Fleet Management, recently gifted $1500, on behalf of the Enterprise Foundation, to the Perry County Health System (PCHS) Children’s Healthcare Fund to be used for the support of local families who are suffering as a result of a childhood illness or injury. Mr. Prather was introduced to the Fund by Frank Robinson, President of Robinson Construction, as Enterprise Fleet Management provides some of the vehicles used by Robinson Construction.

The Enterprise Holdings Foundation works to identify opportunities to help community charities through their business partners. The PCHS Children’s Healthcare Fund is a suitable match in part because 100% of the proceeds of the Fund go to the support of families in need. Additionally, 100% of the funds benefit residents of Perry County. Perry County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) administers the fund by identifying individuals that are experiencing financial hardship as a result of a serious childhood illness or injury. PCMH representatives receive referrals from the public and from healthcare workers. The hospital then makes the initial contact with the family and coordinates the payment of the family’s healthcare bills.

Approximately 40% of the funds are spent locally while 60% are used to pay bills originating from children’s hospitals or healthcare specialists. Other bills for medical equipment or hearing aids, for example, may be paid by the fund.

The principal source of donations to the Fund come from an annual skeet shooting event co-sponsored by Perry County Health System and Robinson Construction. The event, held annually on the last Saturday of September, is one that attracts approximately 60 shooters who compete in a skeet and trap challenge and participate in a fun shoot. Most of the shooters participate as corporate sponsors. The event includes a meal generously catered by the legendary Mary Jane’s Burger and Brew of Perryville, Missouri. Many other community businesses support the event through donations of merchandise to add to the overall quality of the experience.
