There is no better way to celebrate Christmas, than to have a birthday party for Jesus. Every year, Guardian Angel School in Oran does just that. On Wednesday, December 14, all the students, faculty & staff gathered in the gym, where Michelle Priggel, our religion teacher, reminded everyone that before you open gifts on Christmas morning you should tell Jesus Happy Birthday. She also read a poem where Santa tells everyone that the most important part of Christmas is the birth of the Christ child, not emphasis on Santa.

After this, everyone enjoyed birthday cake, made by Laramie Bryant. There were even gifts for Jesus. A local family was adopted by the school and donations were collected from the school and parish families. These donations were used to buy necessities such as coats, clothes and shoes for the family, as well as toys for the children. Finally, prayer partners were drawn among the staff and students.

Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season.
