National Beta Club Week was March 11-15. Students in Jr. Beta at Guardian Angel School in Oran had planned a fun filled and full week of activities. Monday was "Multiply Your Reach Day" and was a day for dressing as twins &/or having a crazy hair day, or just dressing down. Tuesday was "Take Pride" day, so students were to wear red or white uniform shirts, the Guardian Angel school colors, to show their school pride. They also showed pride by picking up trash and sticks around the school and church campus. Wednesday's theme was "Watch us Serve". All of the Jr. Beta members, Ms. Ann and Mrs. McVay, the Beta sponsors, and several volunteer drivers went on a field trip to the Cape Police Department, the Cape Fire Department, and Bollinger Mill in Burfordville. The police and fire department gave a very informative talk and tour of the buildings. The group then headed to Bollinger Mill for a very interesting tour of the mill, the covered bridge, and the segregated cemetery that pre-dates the Civil War. This was a dress down day for the Jr. Beta members as well as the remaining student body. Thursday was "Team Up" day, so students were able to wear a cap the rest of the day after Mass. "Finish the Job" was on Friday's agenda. With another dress down and cap day, the students enjoyed relay race competitions before heading to the Stations of the Cross at church.
