Thank you God Alabama had the courage to pass the "Human Life Protection Act" which bans all abortions in the state except when "abortion is necessary in order to prevent a serious health risk" to the woman, according to the bill's text. It criminalizes the procedure, reclassifying abortion as a Class A felony, punishable by up to 99 years in prison for doctors. Attempted abortions will be reclassified as a Class C penalty. No exception for rape or incest is allowed under this assualt on Roe vs Wade. I, as a Pro Life advocate, applaud the bill which Governor Kay Ivey signed into law including the ban which protects the unborn even in the event of rape and incest.

I know many believe ABORTION in the event of rape and incest is a viable argument but in my humble opinion it seems the unborn child is being punished. Let us remember that child has not asked to be brought into the world but since they are there, they deserve the right to life. At one point in my life one of my son's and his wife were told the child my daughter-in-law was carrying would not live. The doctors said she would not survive a normal birth, my daughter-in-law made the decision to have a Cesarean section giving their child the right to breathe and experience life even if for a short time. One hour fifty seven minutes is all that precious child lived, but she did live.

Life is precious in the eyes of God, in the beginning God said "let us make man in our image, after our likeness." In the book of Jeremiah God said to the prophet, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee." Life whether conceived in rape, incest or even when survival is not guaranteed is precious. Life and death should not lie in the hands of humans. Why does a person who murders someone guilty of murder, but a doctor who rips a child, piece by piece, from a Mother's womb not guilty of murder? If a person kills a pregnant woman they are guilty of two counts of murder. In that scenario the government determines the child in the womb is considered life but not if it is suctioned out of the womb and turned into a bloody slush.

In 1973 the Supreme Court made a grave error, one that has taken the lives of 68 million unborn children. America has turned ABORTION into an extreme method of birth control. Many have criticized Alabama for taking the stand they have, I am elated that Alabama law makers have tackled the issue with strength, courage and morality. I pray this spreads like wildfire across our nation just as late term abortion is legal in eight states. Please, explain to me how the same people who protest and march for the right to kill our unborn believe capital punishment is inhumane? Praise God the error of 1973 is being reversed. ABORTION is immoral, ABORTION is heinous and ABORTION is Murder plain and simple, Republican, Democrat or Independent, it makes no difference what political badge one wears, ABORTION should, must end.
