The Ramblewood Garden Club awarded the July Yard of the Month to Steve and Jackie Griffith of 213 Windwood Lake Drive. The Griffiths maintain two acres of lush lawn landscaped with mature oak, pine, dogwood and redbud trees. Their front retaining wall supports low growing rug junipers and borders of lirope, with yellow calla lilies and red burning bushes planted on either side of their driveway entrance. The circular driveway is lined with American flags in celebration of July Fourth. Front entry plantings include red azaleas, mature dwarf Alberta spruce, red shrub roses, and pots of dracaena, mandevilla and bright green sweet potato vines. Their backyard patio landscape features Japanese maples, ruffled orange-red daylilies and potted petunias, with a screen of white pine trees surrounding their yard. A versatile outdoor fire pit/seating area provides a place for evening relaxation. Shown above are homeowners Steve and Jackie Griffith with Nadine Davis, center, Yard of the Month Committee. Congratulations to the Griffiths for their efforts in making their Cape neighborhood a more beautiful place to live.
