Bollinger County Celebrates Fall Festival Weekend

The Bollinger County Fall Festival Weekend brings a wide variety of excitement and fun to the county.

Sept. 25 - 27 - The Fall Festival events lineup begins on Thursday, September 25 with a Gospel concert performance by The Gipsons and Janie Brown and The Chestnut Mountain Gang. Carnival rides open Thursday night with arm band night and more! Friday, September, 26th events include a 50's Street Dance with Tim & Tazz, carnival rides, and more in the Ivan Johnson Park in Marble Hill. Saturday, September 27 starts with a Parade at 9a.m., Kiddie Tractor Pull, Min to Win, Karaoke Contest, Washer Toss, 9 hole Golf Game, Carnival Rides, Games, and music by Bill Hulvey & The Side Street Band at the Ivan Johnson Park. Car Show at 2p.m with awards at 4pm at Twin City Park in Marble Hill.

Sept. 27 & 28 - The Bollinger County Museum of Natural History in Marble Hill takes part in the Fall Festival Weekend with extended hours on Saturday, September 27 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday, September 28 from 12:00PM to 4:30PM. Special activities on Saturday, September 27 only include Dina MO art contest, duck pond, and dinosaur model making. Don't miss out on all the dinosaur and Ice Age exhibits and more! Kids can have fun in a children's dinosaur dig and other discover room activities on both fall festival days.

Sept. 27 & 28 - Barks' Plantation 17th Annual Rural Heritage Days occurs on September 27 and 28. Free admission to see Sorghum making, blacksmith demo, broom making and more. There will be a Square dance Saturday evening. Come and enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride and fellowship from a historical viewpoint. Steve Parker Karaoke will be at 3 pm -- 5 pm. A Civil War Soldiers encampment and Cannon Firing at 2 PM, Pig Roast Supper Saturday eve at 5:00 pm (Bring your own chair). Wagon Rides, Camping Sites, and Vendor Spaces available all weekend. Cowboy Church Sunday Morning 9 a.m., Sept 28 with coffee & donuts. Barks Plantation is located on Hwy ZZ 2 miles from Glen Allen.

Sept. 27 - The Marble Hill Senior Center will be serving up their annual Chicken & Dumpling Dinner with all the trimming from 11:30a.m.-1:30p.m. Stop by 505 Third Street in Marble Hill to enjoy a great meal at a great price!

Sept. 27 - Patton Lions Club Lawnmower Racing will get your engines revving on Saturday, September 27. The excitement starts with time trials at 5:00pm and the main races at 6:00pm. Bring your whole family for an evening of racing for only $5 a car to watch the races. Food and refreshments are available. No coolers or alcohol please. The event takes place at the Patton Saddle Club and is sponsored by Patton Lions Club. Proceeds will be used for youth programs, vision services, and community emergency needs.

Sept. 27-28 - Cat Ranch Fall Round Up & Lucky Clover Rendezvous takes place on September 27 & 28 at the Cat Ranch in Marble Hill. Activities include a Community Art Show, Rendezvous encampments, music, food, artists, vendors, demonstrations, and storytelling. The Cabin will be open, Tom Runnels prints and books will be available for purchase. This is a great family event, no charge to enter, no charge for parking.

Sept. 27 - 14th Annual Gospel Fest at the Beal Farm at Arab, MO. Singers will include: Ozark Foothills & Friends at 11am, Colleen McConnell singing "Praying for You" in her native language of Inupiaq, Pastor Brad & Leighton Moore, Debbie & Kathy Berry at 11:30am, Jordan's Tide at 12pm, Bollinger County Gospel Strings at 12:30pm, The Lemon Drops at 1pm, Saved by Grace at 1:30pm, The McAtee's 2pm, Ringer Hill 2:30pm, Ozark Foothills 3pm, Open Range 3:30pm, The Richmond Quartet 4pm, Pumpkin River 4:30pm, and Scarlet Thread 5pm. Bring your lawn chairs and let's sing! Refreshments will be available. No Alcohol or Pets Please.

Sept. 27 - Reagan's Chapel Harvest Festival will take place at the Reagan's Chapel United Methodists Church three miles from Patton; take Highway 51 to NN and follow signs. Dinner featuring kettle beef, chicken 'n dumplings and fried chicken served from 3 pm to 6:15pm. Auction of quilts and many more items starting at 7 pm.

Sept. 27 - Historic Wicecarver Store in Marble Hill, across from the court house, open from 8am-2pm. Quilt show, showcase displays, bake sale and more!

Sept. 27-28 - Massey Log House in Marble Hill is open to visitors from 8:00am-2:00pm on Saturday, September 27 and from 1:00pm-4:00pm pm Sunday, September 28. The Massey Log House is a great place to experience everyday life from the 1800s. The Massey Log House, built circa 1869, is a four-pen structure with full porches and is a good example of "dog trot" and "V" notched log house. It is filled with many historical items of everyday life from the 1800 era.
