titled "Days Later," which sheds more light on Congressman Roy Blunt's 14-year record of wasteful spending, corruption and sticking it to the middle class. "Days Later" tells the story of just one of the many wasteful and shady earmarks that Blunt led the charge to pass and the motivation surrounding it.

In 2002, Congressman Blunt was a leader in helping to pass a $1 million earmark for a California company called PerfectWave. The Chief Executive of PerfectWave was defense contractor Brent Wilkes, who was later convicted and sentenced to 12 years in prison for bribing another Congressman in exchange for millions in Pentagon contracts. Just eight days after the earmark was passed, Blunt received $13,000 from company executives. Notably, none of the individuals had ever given to Blunt before. He also flew on their corporate jet. "Today Missourians are learning more about Congressman Blunt's 14-year Washington record of wasteful spending and corruption and the sordid tale of the Perfect Wave earmark is just another example," said Linden Zakula, Robin Carnahan's spokesman. "A California company got a million dollars in tax dollars, Congressman Blunt got thousands in campaign cash and flew in their jet, and the CEO went to jail for bribery - that's the very worst of Washington."

Called a "prodigious pork-meister," Congressman Blunt has been a fierce defender and promoter of the Washington earmark system. Even his former hometown newspaper, the Springfield News Leader, took him to task for allowing "earmarks to get out of control during an era of no accountability." On Blunt's watch, earmarks increased 7-fold -from 1,600 earmarks to 12,000 earmarks each year - and have cost taxpayers more than $225 billion. These wasteful spending habits helped turn a $128 billion surplus into a $1.2 trillion deficit. And today, Missourians are learning just who benefited from Blunt's affinity for wasteful spending...and why. [Springfield News Leader, 6/16/07; Citizens Against Government Waste; CBO]

As part of her plan to crackdown on wasteful spending in Washington, Robin has called for a ban on all earmarks and has already pledged not to partake in the earmark process in Washington.
