The "Paint for a Cause” project began a year and a half ago at the Painted Wren Art Gallery. Visitors to the gallery can donate $1 to paint on the current cause. All donations, as well as the canvas, goes to the benefiting organization. They can sell the painting to raise more money or keep it if they choose.
This Paint for a Cause painting was recently completed for the Easter Seals - Midwest. One hundred thirty people painted on this canvas and $133.59 was raised.
Each paint for a cause canvas remains up for approximately three months to allow as many people as possible to paint on it.
The current cause is for breast cancer research, co-sponsored by the Cape Girardeau-based Chrome Queens riding group. The Painted Wren Art Gallery is located at 223 South Plaza Way in Cape Girardeau, MO.
