Parker to Emerson; You can run but you can't hide your record
On February 22, 2010, Team Emerson issued a letter to their constituents stating the following; As Missouri Republican's who are deeply interested in strong, experienced leadership for our congressional district, we are concerned about recent attempts to question Jo Ann Emerson's credentials. No one is working harder to bring common sense to the halls of Congress...
What Team Emerson is concerned about is the FACTS about the voting record that I have been making public. Most in the 8th district are not aware of the following facts and votes by Representative Jo Ann Emerson;
HR. 1424 The Wall Street Bailout [TARP] Emerson voted for this TWICE! In spite of hundreds of calls not support this legislation.
Embryonic Stem Cell research, voted Yes TWICE! This would fund the killing of embryo's with YOUR tax dollars. Missouri Right to Life no longer endorses Rep. Emerson.
Voted for 410 billion dollar Omnibus bill with 9,000 earmarks including some of hers. [reported by Michelle Malkin, Feb 25, 2009]
Congressional pay raise; voted yes LAST YEAR, vote number 2009-H413 on June 19, 2009
CASH FOR CLUNKERS, she voted for this TWICE! Reports show this cost about $24,000 PER CAR!
Normal Trade relations with CHINA! She voted for this on May 24, 2005. How is this working for you?
Ginnie Mae Bailout. Emerson voted to BAIL OUT the Mortgage holders. Vote 2009-H659 on July 29, 2009
BAILOUT/TAKEOVER OF GM AND CHRYSLER. Emerson voted YES. Vote number 2009-H690 on Dec 10, 2008
Expensive overseas trips. Scotland, Dec 17, 2009 see Wall Street Journal story, 5 days in Scotland
Job Killing CAFTA. Emerson voted YES, Bill Emerson voted yes to NAFTA. How is this working for YOU?
Voted YES to disapprove of Joe Wilson's comment to the president. Reported by Michelle Malkin.
Emerson voted YES to de-regulate the banks http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008/09/money-and-votes-aligned-in-con.html leading to the banking crises. see Glass-Steagall.
Emerson didn't read the bills. Admitted to 300 people in West Plains that she did not read the Patriot Act. Admitted to several witnesses in Rolla she did not read the Wall Street Bailout Bill.
Probably one of the most shocking things I have found about the Emerson record is her support of SOCIAL JUSTICE and ECONOMIC JUSTICE wealth re-distribution at the Congressional Hunger Center. The EMERSON CLASS OF 20 is shocking to conservatives as they read about the social justice and economic justice activists that are in the Emerson class. If you look up the definition of Social Justice, it is socialism and wealth re-distribution. If this is what the people that signed this letter to conservatives support then I would say all true conservatives need to take note. The Emerson Hunger Center and class are being paid in part by our tax dollars via a $3,000,000.00 earmark for the Hunger center that Mrs. Emerson put on the $410 Billion dollar Omnibus Bill on Feb. 25, 2009.

If the preceding FACTS bring into question Representative Emerson's credentials, then that is HER PROBLEM. The Emerson letter was addressed to MISSOURI CONSERVATIVES. If Missouri conservatives support the preceding facts, then they are not conservatives in my book. I would welcome Team Emerson to debate these Facts. That is not what they are doing in their letter. As a matter of fact, no mention is made in this letter about the above facts. I would ask the district 8 leaders who signed this letter if this means they support the above votes of Mrs. Emerson? Do you support Wall Street Bailouts? Embryonic Stem Cell research that kills embryo's with YOUR tax dollars? Do you support these job killing trade deals and bailout votes? Do you think this represents conservatives in the 8th district? Look around fellow Show-Me Missourian's, how is this workin for ya?
I have asked several times now for a DEBATE with Mrs. Emerson. I certainly hope that she will debate these issues so that voters will know the full truth about the voting record of their representative in Washington. I would certainly welcome Team Emerson to answer to the facts instead of deflection and empty rhetoric. A comment was made at a Lincoln Days event in Potosi last month that if you are unhappy with the voting record of your representative, then you should run for office yourself. That is what I am doing.
If any of the above information is incorrect, I would certainly welcome a correction by Team Emerson. One more issue I would like to add. I have been fighting the NAIS animal Identification program for years in Missouri. The program will be devastation to farmers and ranchers when fully implemented.
We have gotten Zero help from Mrs. Emerson on this issue other than rhetoric. After her news release about how NAIS was now dead I issued a news release stating the program had just been renamed. Now, Mrs. Emerson is starting to talk about NAIS and fight it for the first time.
Don't be fooled, this is just to make it through to the next election. It's about professional encumbency. Just google Bob Parker and NAIS, then Google Jo Ann Emerson and NAIS, do the research yourself, who has really been fighting for our freedoms?
Note; Bob Parker is a Texas County rancher from Raymondville and is challenging Rep. Emerson in the August Primary. His website is www.electbobparker.com
