SEMO Iris Society Sale and Auction August 5, 2018

The SEMO Iris Society will sponsor an iris sale and auction, open to the public, on Sunday, August 5, beginning at noon at the University of Missouri Extension Center, 684 Jackson Trail, Jackson MO.

Gardeners will find iris in all colors of the rainbow available for $1.00 each! Club members will provide a variety of iris rhizomes for sale on the �dollar table�. These rhizomes are divisions of iris marketed by nationally known companies, including some recent introductions. A better bargain cannot be found!

Also available will be iris hybridized by local celebrities in the iris world. Local hybridizers contributing to the sale include: David Niswonger, who has hybridized over 400 iris and is the past winner of the Dykes Medal, the Knowlton Medal, the Nies Medal, and the Bennet C. Jones Award, Dr. Don Murphy, who has introduced several iris such as� Apocalypse Girl� and �Jeff�s Guardian Angel�, and will have for auction his new, very, very black iris, to be registered as �Evil Doctor�, and Bob Skaggs, who hybridizes Iris and daffodils, and whose most recent introduction, a bright purple and yellow standard dwarf bearded iris aptly named �Psychedelic Dreams�, will be available for auction.

The auction will feature new selections from some of the best known iris growers from around the world. Take advantage of an opportunity to acquire new varieties, which retail from $20 to $100 each, for a fraction of the retail cost.
