POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - New students at Three Rivers Community College will have an opportunity to begin their collegiate journey at the college’s New Student Orientation scheduled for Friday, August 1.
Three Rivers’ New Student Orientation is planned to give new students the necessary information for a successful journey through college. Two sessions – at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. – will be held on August 1 in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers campus in Poplar Bluff. Students may attend either session.
According to TRCC Director of Academic Advising and Retention Gina Bubanovich, the New Student Orientation will equip new students with the necessary information they will need to begin college classes this fall.
“Studies show that students who attend orientation are more likely to feel comfortable in the college experience and are more likely to be successful students,” Bubanovich said. “New Student Orientation will help establish a strong foundation on which students may build their dreams into reality. College is a time to develop new skills and knowledge that will serve for a lifetime. New Student Orientation is where you begin.”
The New Student Orientation is designed for students planning to attend Three Rivers classes on the main campus in Poplar Bluff and at the college’s centers throughout Southeast Missouri. Bubanovich said orientation also is an opportunity to become better acquainted with the campus and to meet other new students. Parents are welcome to attend New Student Orientation.
Students attending New Student Orientation may park in the main student parking lot. Drawings for prizes, including $100 tuition awards, will be held at both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Registration for the fall semester continues Aug. 12 - 20 on the main campus and at Three Rivers Centers in Campbell, Malden, Kennett, Sikeston and Portageville. Returning Three Rivers students may register online at the college Web site by using Rapid Reggie from Aug. 9 - 20. All campus offices will be closed on Monday, Aug. 11 for staff and faculty meetings.
Fall semester classes at Three Rivers Community College begin on Thursday, Aug. 14.
