Two Local Powerlifters Set Records

Jerry Pledger, of Cape Girardeau and Chad Holmes, of Sikeston set records at the American Powerlifting Association meet held in West Plains, MO, on Feb. 25th.

Jerry Pledger -- Master's Division, Age 50-54. 605 Squat, 415 Bench, 405 Deadlift: 1420 Total. 3 World Records and 3 American Records in Squat, Bench and Total.

Chad Holmes -- Master's Division, Age 40-44. 730 Squat, 760 Deadlift, 405 Bench: 1895 Total. 3 World Records and 3 American Records in Squat, Deadlift and Total.

Both Pledger and Holmes are longtime members of the Ripshed Gym, in Scott City. Says owner John Paul Ham of his members: "I am very proud of Jerry and Chad's accomplishments. The Ripshed has been around since 1969 and I'm excited to have lifters of this caliber call it home
